David Guetta messing with the Electronic Dance Music scene or Not?
This Clip Says it all. David Guetta was a DJ but hard to consider him a DJ anymore like Armin,Sander,John o Callaghan,Deadmau5 Gareth Emery, so on because if you look at his work in the last two or three years its all collaborations with R&B Artists (sell out) who come on lets face it are in it for the money and the fame if you played Traffic or Sandstorm to R&B artists five years ago they would have said whats this shit. But now with the rise of Chris Brown who practically just dances around to Music. Flo Rida & Nicki Minaj wanting a piece of the action (because America are catching up with EDM ) He is turning out to be more of a pop music producer then a live DJ would Dr Dre or Timberland be considered in the same area as Armin Van Burren or Deadmau5 no so David Guetta being the number one DJ in the world is a joke and its all down to Sales and fame not fame with fans but fame with big names in the states. it's just hurting my ears when you walk into a once decent club and all you hear is remixes of remixes of sexy bitch or love takes over. you can't say it's not hurting 'real' dance music. Most clubs have followed the pop Culture and its so sad when so many more good underground Talent is out there. Also if the commercial Music keeps rising over the underground electronic Music Concerts and festivals will follow and will start to hear the same sets at different concerts Press play again please. If the DJ Mags top 100 DJ list is also promoting a DJ like Guetta in the same category as Legends like Armin, Laidback Luke, Deadmau5, Axwell, Diplo then would it not be better to call it top 100 music producers instead, When it comes to festivals there should be tents Called Pop and Commercial dance music and not having R&B artist and Commercial DJs headlining Main Stages after good quality DJs who bring you on a journey with build ups breaks effects new sounds great blending of songs the right amount of vocals style and even the odd gimmick is good Deadmau5 has his mouse head (its not cheap) Eddie Halliwell has his scratching (he should do more of it) and Swedish house Mafia had 3 DJs in the one group that worked for a while as they noticed themselves and have decided to split up. Vote right this year http://www.djmag.com/top100
